Greek Wedding Soup - Rachael Ray Magazine Dec/Jan 2009. Very good. I also have 2 jars filled and frozen for future meals. Next up is Creamy Pasta with Spinach and Fried Capers.
Unexpected blogging break
I may start only posting pictures with captions. Writing words on the blog is overwhelming to me. I have never been able to write well. Those who know me well know my first degree was in engineering. Truthfully that was because numbers made sense to me and second to anything with numbers was science. So for a while you will see my life in pictures.
Lazy Day
I got next to nothing done today. I went in to round this morning on the newborns (my favorite service) and worked for about an hour on a lecture I have to give. Other than that - I did NOTHING.
This week we had some excitement in the neighborhood. I am very lucky to live in a fairly quiet area though recently we have had some more noise nearby due to a renter or two. Apparently their “fun” turned into driving drunk and taking out the front stoop of the church and parsonage near my home. Not a good choice and she is VERY lucky she didn’t hurt or kill someone. She did this all right in front of a cop. I really have no tolerance for drunk driving. Had she been on a perpendicular road she could have taken out my bedroom, with me in it.

Whales
I forgot to post on our Maine whale watching. Soooo with 2 doses of Dramamine I finally went to the deck of the boat and got some pretty close pictures. Each whale can be identified by the pattern on the bottom of their tail which can be seen when they are diving deep. Two tails are shown below. They put on quite the show for us. Beautiful!
Sugar? Honey?
I think he is collecting for his next crop of honey. I figure on the way he will pass pollen between flowers which is a big positive I am sure. Ok, not sure but I think that was heavily discussed in my science classes at one point. I wonder if those are veins in his wings. Interesting! Again the picture can be enlarged by clicking on the picture and then choosing the enlarge button above the picture on flickr.
Macro
One photography tool I have been having fun playing with is the Lensbaby with the macro attachment. I had the opportunity to play with this while at Longwood gardens. Below is a photo from the center of a flower. The colors came out amazing and I love how the picture focused. You can click on the picture to get a larger version. Enjoy!
