This photo is of Slaton running. Of course, this is not during the game but before. In warmups. I like this photo but there are problems with it. It is soft which I do not like. Also he blends with the background too much…also bad. Still worth sharing!
It is wonderful to get on the field again. Before taking the field in the slow alumni band form, we get to see the players up close warming up. This year I spent the entire time on the field snapping pictures.
One of my favorite yearly things to do is alumni band. On homecoming football Saturday all us graduated (now old) x-band members get to march on the WVU football field again. This is the sole reason to be in the band. Well there is the 4 years of band which are a blast BUT to get back on that field and play with everyone, now that is the real reason. The picture above is a part of the pregame show which any WVU football fan can probably name, Simple Gifts. It is the part that gives people butterflies in their stomach. I was on the field and took my camera. I snapped MANY pictures. More to come!
This one makes me happy, I want to go redo it with the tripod higher but from the same spot. We will see when.
WVU always plants pretty flowers around campus. You seem to be able to find flowers blooming on campus at any time of the year, including popping through snow. I am convinced there is a large workforce of nighttime planters. Though, on many of my snowy walks to campus I wonder how they could possibly do it when there are no footprints around the plants. Magic? What a mystery. Anyways, no snow yet but beautiful fall flowers are out.
