Went to Longwood Gardens today with my parents. It is worth the visit any time of the year. More pictures throughout the week. It got crowded tonight but that didn’t stop us from seeing what we wanted to and taking pictures of things. I got some pictures that I enjoyed. Above is one of them. This tree was in the conservatory. They had many trees set up. All decorated differently.

Vandy at Little Beaver

Took the dog to Little Beaver State Park this weekend. I took this picture as she was sniffing the lights in the background. This was her second walk around the lake in a day.

Christmas Towels

I saw some towels on another blog. They were real simple and I liked them. I do not remember where I saw it but I did try my own. These are simple. This is the first time I have tried satin stitch around something fused to fabric. It is nice and easy. But, it doesn’t take the place of appliqué done the hard way.

Geocaching on December 17th!

Filed under: General — Treah at 10:55 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2006

Today it was warm. Very warm. I went geocaching in Charleston with my Dad. We did the ‘Hiking Trail’ (original name) in Coonskin Park, Charleston WV. We found the cache without a problem but promptly lost the trail. We ended up on a gas company road and then a road within the park. Luckily the park is small enough that you could always tell where you were by what part of the park you could see through the trees. The trail had a large hill on it. It got my heart rate up.

Christmas in West Virginia

Filed under: General — Treah at 10:42 pm on Friday, December 15, 2006

This year we have been warm. Very warm. Today I walked around a local state park (Little Beaver State Park) in a long sleeved t-shirt. It is December 15th and I didn’t wear a jacket. This local park puts on a display of Christmas lights and figurines. Today my mom and I did a little photo trip on the 1.3 mile loop around the lake. Here are some of my favorites.

Christmas Decorating Again … (smile smile smile)

Filed under: General — Treah at 11:23 pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Every year since my first Christmas, my mom has always bought an ornament for my brother and I (they are now also a joint gift with our spouses.) Tonight we put the tree up at my parents’ house. The first ornaments given to us are now in my mom’s collection, she couldn’t part with them. I try hard to always come home and help with the tree though and get to see the ornament. All the other ornaments are on my tree in Morgantown.

My latest sewing product. Kind of a disaster if you look at the binding and corners. Means I get to keep them myself which makes me happy also. I tried binding them but have found it too hard to make binding pretty on something this small. I will go back to just flipping them inside out. looks better that way. I do like the scrappy effect of these. I will just have to work on more till I get it.
