I miss Jenny!!

Filed under: General — Treah at 9:10 pm on Tuesday, May 30, 2006

I just had the most wonderful day. I was lucky today becuase I got out early (somewhat the hope on a day when Jenny is coming.) I then spent my entire day with Jenny. I miss Jenny. We shopped. We shopped the kind of shopping you do with only the bestest of friends. We tried on. Commented about the clothing honestly. AND we bought!! Now I am cheap. Very cheap. But it is so nice to be with a friend who can really appreciate it. We both got great stuff and neither of us spent very much money. She will be in her clinical years of optometry school next year. I will be in my fourth year. In regards to this we are both on the lookout for appropriate attire but always remember the covering qualities of a white coat. We then went to Cheddars where I forced her to make me have a salad. I had the best salad ever. I think I could stick with eating that salad everytime I am there (a bad habit of mine is to ALWAYS eat the same thing at restraunts which will work out well here.) It was wonderful.

I miss my Jenny.

This weekend was exactly what I needed. I went to Pocahontas County, WV. Specifically to the area where my grandmother was born and raised. I am sure it is the best place in this country. We did lots this weekend. Some of the weekends activities below

Rain, Thunder, Lightening

Filed under: Photography — Treah at 9:58 pm on Friday, May 26, 2006

Today was a miserable rainy day. I had to get ready for my family reunion so there wasn’t much outside time anyways BUT how dreary! Vandy did not get a walk/run. She is now getting into things. I guess that is my punishment. Had I taken her on a walk though she would have tucked her tail and pulled me home at the drops of rain hitting her much less the thunder.

To counter act the horrible weather maybe I should think back to another fun day. I went on another photo trip around town with a friend. Here are some other pictures from Morgantown, WV.

What pretty snapshots of the campus we found. I have not seen my friend’s pictures but I just love seeing the views I found while on our walk that day. I guarantee her views are better than mine!

Anniversary #3

3 years today. Justin got me flowers. They are very pretty. It is hard to see in the pictures but the prettiest daylilies are in this bunch. They do make me happy!

We had a fun wedding. I look back so positively on the whole week and day of the wedding. I heard a classmate recently say she would not do the big wedding over again and it made me think WHAT!! I had so much fun. Nothing but fun.

So what have we done in the last three years. Not much different. Justin has switch jobs and gone through a few promotions (yes!) I have continued the debt growing journey of medical school (negating the promotional values Justin has worked so hard on.) Finally in the home stretch of that. Vandy has grown 3 years older and continues to be a slave to her excitement. As you can see, not much is different. But so much fun!

To celebrate we went to a new restaurant in town, Cheddars. Luckily we both really liked it. Then I had the whole evening to myself because Justin had class, his last class to complete before a masters degree. I did some exercise with Vandy. We ran all hills we came upon on our long walk. I studied dissociative disorders, you don’t want one. Then we went to ColdStone. It is my favorite!

Basting Away my call

Filed under: Quilting, Sewing — Treah at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2006

So tonight I am on call. I think the resident I am on call with may have lost my pager number because I have not been called in. 50 more minutes and I will have made it the entire call without being called in. Anyways, to pass time during being trapped at home waiting on my page I have done a little bit of my PreTest book (psychiatry) and I basted my most recent tablerunner. Recently I made a comment on basting it Saturday and then quilting it on Sunday. You can probably tell that I did not get that done. Here is a new picture of the basted table runner.

I started Adult Psychiatry today. Interesting.

New Skirt

Today I spent time on a skirt. When I say time, this actually took very little time. I am happy with it (but not happy with my extra weight visible in this picture.) Working on the weight thing slowly.

Speaking of the weight. Justin and I took Vandy to Coopers Rock today. Now we didn’t do a lot of moving but we did walk some. It was fun. Here’s Vandy when she finally sat for me to take a picture. Darn Dog.

Neat Cards

Filed under: General — Treah at 7:38 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2006

I found these neat cards today. They have wildflower seeds inbedded in them. What an awsome idea. Just something I saw why clicking through blogs today.

Went to JoAnns today. Now this is dangerous. I went witha gift card from Christmas though which is even more dangerous. Here are some pictures a small piece of my treasure. The other three pieces of linen shall become skirts. Scary cause I still have 10 yards upstairs to turn into a quilt. I could not resist though. Thats ok right?

New Table Runner

Filed under: General — Treah at 10:54 pm on Friday, May 19, 2006

Tonight I came home after dinner with the intent to clean. I think I had an attention deficit problem because I went from cleaning to computer. I was looking around on some blogs I enjoy and that got me listening to some podcasts. In the end I decided that while listening to a podcast I should make something. So, that is what I did. Here are pictures of my next table runner in the making.

Tomorrow I will try to layer this table runner and then maybe quilt it on Sunday. Lofty goals I figure.

School news. This week was my last week in neurology. I enjoyed my time there with most of the attendings and all of the residents. I had a real problem happen with one attending. I had never been yelled at before as bad as this guy did. I let this bother me for 2 straight days. Prayed I would get a stomach flu so as to not have to work with the man the next day. A headache would work to. I am unable to call in sick as a lie and even have trouble calling in when I am sick but after this yelling incident I would have called in had I been sick. I knew this guy was generally thought of as not being nice. But, for some reason I let it get to me. Luckily the other student that heard the horrible things he said was a close friend. Anyways, to end the story, I got to witness him yelling the same horrible things (literally the same story) at a resident today. I think that was what I needed because I realized that he is just ridiculous. No one can take him serious because he takes it so far that his criticism is not realistic. I also got to see how she reacted. She shrugged it off. She ignored him. Where is that girl in me!

Table Runner Done!

Filed under: General — Treah at 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 14, 2006

Well today I finished the table runner. It was Denyse Schmidt inspired (your aloud to do that right?) I have avoided pictures but, after looking today, I did notice it is not a replica. It is just inspired by her quilts. Anyways, here it is. I worked long and hard on this one. I like all the quilting. Wish I had the patience to do a whole quilt with this close of quilting. I do not though.
