I finished my table runner. Well the white one. I am working on finishing the binding on the orange one now. I got out for most of the day today so I went to the fabric store and got orange thread.

I’ll make up for my easy day tomorrow with my call night. I enjoy call sometimes though. If there are babies to be born then I will be excited. This is my last call night since I will be spending the next 2 weeks at an outside clinic (which I love the thought of!) Today I went and got my schedule for next year signed by my “advisor”. She seems really nice and helpful. Next year I will be taking family med clinic, peds clinic, my community project, family med rural, OB rural, MICU, Anesthesiology (I am dreading these two weeks!), othopedic surgery outpatient clinic, ophthamology and a family medicine sub internship.

Off to sew more and then study more. Then begins the dread about not coming home ever tomorrow. Thats sad.

Ok, so I had another table runner design in my head and today I went ahead and tried it. This one is for my Etsy shop. I tried my hand at machine quilting (without using a walking foot) and it came out pretty well, I think. I still have more to do on it but I do feel like it came out nice. I still have a lot of work to do on it but I will just leave the machine up on the diningroom table and work on it slowly. Today I think I only spent about 1.5 hours on this but will spend more over the next few weeks. Of course, here is a picture!

Long day tomorrow. Starts early and then have to be in the operating room and you know my feelings on that. I also need to get serious about doing my pretest book when I am at home. That will be part of my plans tomorrow evening.

So far this weekend I have not cleaned or studied (you know the things I SHOULD do) but I have gotten in some sewing and a WVU basketball game. I worked more on my table runner. It now has the binding sewn onto the front side but I need to wrap it and sew it to the back. This will have to wait for some orange thread.

Another project that I did on friday night was to make a new purse. Picture is below. This one is cute. It is a purple purse that is the size I carry normally, fits a small wallet and a cell phone. I decided to open up a new Etsy shop, Knit Spin Sew Study, and put this purse on there.

I also tried my hand at an art quilt. I have seen these online a lot. I think this one would look good framed in a slightly thick white frame. I may make a trip out to look for that tomorrow. We shall see. I used wonderunder for the trees and trunks. I used white thread and the sewing machine for the birds in the sky. We will have to see how it looks once framed.

OK so everyones doing this whole Corners of my Home thing so I thought I may put one up. I am really putting this up cause I FINALLY got these pictures all hung in a spot after years of propping them up in other spots. 2 of them are obviously of my dog. The bottom one is my husbands family at our rehearsal dinner and the other is a picture of the empire state building that his aunt and uncle got us after we went on our honeymoon to NYC. We got a private tour by this real nice security guard up to the top one night. We met him when he asked us how the Yankees had played. We were able to talk at length with him about the game we went to because we had gone that day to see the Yankees play the Red Sox. He took us through private security and then up the private elevators and we didn’t have to use our ticket up. He then took a picture of us at the top. What fun. I want to go back to the city. We found people to be generally very nice (like the story before) while there and enjoyed the excitement. The only other thing in that picture is the normal reality of life in having to have a thermostat. I want to make or hang something right above that. Maybe that can be my next project idea.

I was on call last night. I got no sleep because babies were being born ALL night. I loved it though. I am still not in the the operating room thing and I think that answers ANY question I may have had about doing OB/GYN. I just do not like when people are snappy in any way. I am a student and if I keep doing something wrong it would be nicer to kindly remind me but it rarely works that way. Luckily OB is not the harshest of places and its not as stressful but I think I will pass on it. Too stressful to be to do something wrong in the OR.

Today I just came home and slept for 4 hours and then did a load of laundry, dishes, took trash out walked the dog and hung stuff. I am now going to take off for WVU basketball.
